After building wall shelves & buying 6 filing cabinet drawers for my small bedroom, the CLUTTER IS KILLING ME!
Question: After building wall shelves & buying 6 filing cabinet drawers for my small bedroom, the CLUTTER IS KILLING ME!
If you are a good organizer, please give me your suggestions. I hold on to every paper and have a folder in my filing cabinets for every single subject of my life…including “intimacy” “24 hour fitness” “diet” “fitness” “academics” you name it…I cant put away clothes in the event that “I might need it one day, or use it during a fat bloated day” and the worst thing about all of this is that I cant do any work in a cluttered environment…I get overwhelmed, lose it, and then procrastinate until I get a bad grade or miss a deadline. Please- any advice that may have changed you from a former-clutter bug to an evolved simplifier, I would love to hear about your strategies.
Thx a mill.

~don’t put anything down on the floor or on a surface. WHILE it is in your hand (after you’ve used it, etc.), think about where it goes and put it there. if that means garbage/shredder/recycling/filing, put it there. DON’T put things away “later” or “another time” or “when i’m not so tired.” this type of mentality is how things build up and clutter becomes impenetrable. do it at the moment. the ongoing maintenance of clutter-free space is just as critical as the initial purging.
~every item in your home should have a SPACE and a PURPOSE. IF IT DOESN’T, THEN NO MATTER HOW MUCH ENERGY OR $ $ YOU SPENT TO ACQUIRE THE ITEM… GET RID OF IT!!!! It is costing you more space, energy, and life to keep it, than it is worth.
~every time you buy a new article of clothing, DO NOT allow yourself to take off the tags/put it away until you get rid of 1 article of clothing that you already had.
~keep a good, but not-too-specific filing system that is easily accessible to you for when you go through papers that come in. every year (set a consistent date, like Jan. 2, and just get it done!) go through each folder by itself, and it should jump out at you which papers can be recycled/shredded/tossed, etc.
~when you bring new papers into the house, be ruthless with what you keep. –> buy an excellent quality shredder and use it! make it your default place to put papers into — unless you can think of a good reason not to.
~buy this book (and don’t lose it in the mess! :p) “clear your clutter with feng shui” by Karen Kingston http://www.amazon.com/Clear-Your-Clutter-Feng-Shui/dp/0767903595/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-3651738-7751008?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188676148&sr=8-1
good luck to you! remember, the freedom of getting rid of something is worth so much more to your sanity and happiness than the “security” of keeping stuff you’ll probably never even use.
now buy that book! it’s not fluff, i promise – i found it in one of my mom’s piles of clutter (ah, the irony) and it’s really helped me.
EDIT: 1 more tip: go paperless wherever you can – a lot of the things you mentioned can be EASILY found online. google them and see. they’re there, i promise! set up good, organized bookmark systems on your computer and then throw out the paper copies you have!! (and stop bringing them into the house in the first place. this includes appointment cards, unneeded receipts, pamphlets, brochures, advertisements…)

I was overrun with papers at one time.
I bought a paper shredder(with the garbage can) and went thru a couple of boxes a day til I had shredded all non essential stuff–which was pretty much all of it lol.
I keep the shredder in the kitchen where it is used on a daily basis by my whole family.
I hate laundry, so I don’t have many clothes–once a week I have 1 load of whites & 1 load of darks. Any clothing that has sat in my closet unworn for 6 months goes into the donation bin or the garbage depending on my mood. find ‘homes’ for things—a place for everything & everything in it’s place– and when you use it–put it back where it goes.
I despise clutter but have to live with it as I have 3 teenage sons & a hub who do not put stuff away. for example–on this puter desk I am seeing a hairbrush, a box of q-tips, a wooden tiki mug, a calculator, a drumstick, a clipboard, a wallet, manicure scissors, empty food wrappers, a thesaurus, a book on animation,a broken box of springs & things, a computer motherboard, a dry erase marker a stack of burnable cd’s & a bunch of cords. Drives me crazy.
I work full time so I don’t have the time or energy when I get home to clean up after them. The only places tidy & organized in this house are my side of the bedroom & my art studio.

Daily workouts and muscle building attempts will give you nutrifying food habits along with a robust lifestyle. The balanced food and exercise routines that the teens abide by today will help them when they steadily leave their childhood behind to enter the realm of adulthood.
In that period of life, you can notice that people have started treating you with a much higher level of approval, affection and respect.
Nevertheless, it’s totally crucial to point out here that this is an age where your body is still growing so any kind of off-target exercises plus a diet that’s low on nutrition will land you with serious health issues and hamper your growth.
Bearing in mind all these critical facts, let’s give you some really great tips that will help anyone eager on teenage bodybuilding:
· Steroids should be absolutely avoided at all costs. Besides being unlawful, they also have a damaging impact on the hormones and can end up inducing severe physiological issues in the body. In teenage, the hormones have the task of carrying out countless intellectual, emotional & physical healthful changes in the human body. Though it’s a very obvious but also a very critical point to focus upon if the number of teenagers consuming steroids for muscle-building is to be taken into account. Omega-3 fish oil, protein powder, and multi vitamin tablets are teeming with enough nutrients to do the trick. There will be plenty of free time and stacks of cash later to worry over the consumption of supplements.
· You should takeoff with a routine of light, casual exercises like chin-ups or push-ups. Teens are better off shrinking any exercise routine that calls for heavy weight lifting. Light, lower impact workouts are more than enough to get you the look you are crazy for! But you must do these with a religious fervor.
· Dead lifts and squats are the kind of exercises that could lead to grievous injuries if done before the age of 16. Strictly advised – do these exercises with expert supervision.
Teens do not need any supplements. This is due to the fact that in teen years, testosterone is at it’s uppermost levels as it is. Refrain from taking supplements no matter what. Taking them might lead upto total mayhem in your body!
You should primarily look at building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A robust lifestyle is utterly dependent on how healthy your diet is. A few essential regular items in your diet must be –
• whole wheat bread,
• fruits,
• vegetables and
• rice.
Any meal that you gobble down like fish, protein shakes, cottage cheese or chicken will get you a toned up, fat-free body, if it’s generously full of protein. If the diet you take daily is full of fatty foods, then you’re headed for destination “fatville” i.e. obesity.
· The body of a teen undergoes changes regularly and rapidly. To recover from the regeneration caused by these rapid changes, it’s necessary to get a minimum of 8 hours’ sleep every day.
· Being focused is the key to achieving your goal. So, it’s necessary to systematically write down the steps you need to follow in order to achieve your goal. Work towards achieving your goal and more importantly, be positive and confident about it.
· Understand your body’s capacity and then act. Don’t push your body too far that it reaches a limit where recovering may not be possible at all. This may turn out to be disastrous in the long run.
· Drink lots of water to avoid dehydration during workouts.
· Be sure to concentrate on a complete body workout. Focusing on just one area may not be a good idea unless you want to look misshapen.
Even though, body-building is considered to be a safe activity, safety concerns must not be overlooked and caution must be observed. You need to attend to even the minor injuries to prevent irreparable damages. This is important because a teen’s body is highly sensitive due to the continuous change it endures. It’s, therefore, extremely important to avoid any exercise that may lead to injuries.
We know that you want to move much faster than this, but remember that you are young. In fact, very young. So don’t be too harsh on yourself. Have fun. Enjoy what you’re doing. Being healthy, good looking, and attractive is always good. In addition to all this, being positive at all times and following a healthy lifestyle, including regular eating habits and a well-planned workout regime will give you all that you will need in order to be fit and get your muscles toned up and yes, how can we forget to mention about the girls? – They’ll fall for your transformed, six pack ripped look.
