It sounds crazy, but home gyms are still a rage. People are converting their study rooms and part of their sharing space in their house to accommodate a home gym. The convenience and time saving is what makes home gyms preferred. Before you zero in on a home gym of your choice, you need to consider your fitness need, the space available and then make a budget accordingly.

First thing, do not put all sorts of exercising equipment in your home gym. If you are trying to lose some weight, then you have to do cardio exercising routines with fitness equipment like elliptical trainers and treadmills. For a good strength training, a smith machine would be a great choice. To build a decent multi home gym will cost you several thousand dollars. This includes flooring, lighting, music and ventilation.

The minimum area needed to build a home gym is about 150 square feet. There should be some area to move around too. In case you have a two hundred squares of feet on your disposal, you can fit in a Jacuzzi. Besides fitnes equipment like plate machines, treadmills and elliptical trainers, you should have some resistance bands, dumbblells and free weights. You should refrain from building your home gym in the basement area.

Be aware that flooring is an important part when you are building your own home gym. Choose between two types of flooring, vinly and rubber. If any falls occur, the rubber flooring will cushion and reduce the impact. One can be comfortable standing, running or walking freely easily unlike a tiled floor or carpeted flooring. Also rubber flooring can easily reduce the impact of any equipment fall. And the rubber floor is also easily cleaned and maintained. Vynil flooring is easily cleaned, which makes it hygienic, and the noise is reduced to aceptable level.
